About Us:
We are local multiplayer enthusiasts. Quite simply, we make the games we want to play. Our mission is to bring these types of games back to the fore front of gaming culture.
Fellow spaceship pilot Red loves winding down with a little spaceship racing.
During the Story Mode, you'll have an opportunity to beat Red's best times on his impromptu 2D space tracks. Fly laps by passing each checkpoint in order, while avoiding the immobile and indestructible rocks placed on the track.
The races can be played outside of the story, too. Since the ships don't affect each other, players can compete while attempting to set a record time.
The craft have the same floaty space controls as in the rest of the game, so it can be mighty tough to avoid those rocks at high speed. Good luck!
Enemies have you surrounded? Kick out the 360 degree Repulsor to push them away and give yourself some breathing space.
Check out how the all-way wrap around works. Careful... the enemies know how to use it!
It’s official! Our small ragtag team of devs, artists, music and sound people has finally finished World Destroyers.
World Destroyers at the Toronto Bit Bazaar went very well. We had our first experience with the raw public and it was awesome. We had people playing it...
World Destroyers Demo. Try before you buy! Now you can play with Keyboard/Mouse or your XBOX 360 Controller. See Below for change log and demo limitations...
Enjoy our glorious title screen on your desktop. 1080P Goodness.
A shoot-em-up in the old style with a modern twist and far more longevity than the old Asteroids ever had. It looks good if a little too large and flat in places. Its fast. Its fun. Its well worth the asking price.
The retro mode in the game is probably the one I shall play the most, but there is a nice story mode and some extra modes, racing etc, thrown in for good measure. This is most definitely a 4-player-&%#!-em-up after a night down the pub, kinda game.
If you enjoy hectic shoot-em-ups, if you have someone else to play with locally, if you enjoy older styled games with hard difficulty, buy this.
Thanks for trying the game! Glad you enjoyed it. I agree, a little bit of the art is a somewhat flat. With limited resources we had to stick with what we had in a couple places. The growing pains of a new indie dev. :) That said we will be continuing to add to the game and art/UI will be one of those areas. Patch 1.04 is coming soon and has some UI/graphical improvements! Thanks for your support!
Well, the keyboard/mouse control is a joke. You cannot complete the tutorial of this game using the keyboard/mouse control, so, devs should be more responsible in letting gamers know they need a controller. I'll wait to post a review because it does seem as though the developer has been active here.
Thanks for letting me know. I apologize for the frustration. I haven't been able to recreate the bug. Pressing A or Enter should proceed. When exactly is this happening?
This happens when I am on the hex grid. I am told to press "Y" to warp to my ship. Then, there is no way to "park" in the blue circle. I have keyboard/mouse enabled for all players, but, there is no way to get through the tutorial.
What I am going to try to do is just skip the tutorial and jump in the game. I love Asteroids and this DOES look cool from the videos. I'll let you know how that works. Thank you for being so attentive. Perhaps I am doing something wrong on the hex screen?
Ah yes. Sorry for the confusion. I had rushed to get keyboard/mouse support in for the launch. F on the keyboard warps in the ship. Its listed on the controls diagram but I need to update some of the instructions text to make this more clear. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. You'll also be happy to know that a patch allowing fully customizable controls will be coming very soon! (As well as support for non-xbox controllers)
Sounds great! I do think this game has a lot of potential. Big space games are making a comeback with titles like Limit Theory, No Man's Sky, Elite: Dangerous, and Star Citizen. I've also noticed a comeback of classic shooters as well. So, thank you for the update on the imminent update!! :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I submitted a patch a couple days ago with addresses the lack of keyboard controls in the instructions as well as a new DM mode, Bounty Brawl! More to come! :)
This latest video looks really cool by the way. I had a bit of a prototype feeling with the previous one. Anyway, let me have it, I wanna try the story mode! ;)
Thanks, we're actually getting it out on desura as we speak! Story mode is really fun, once you get through it, try you skills at horde. I got to wave 149 the other day (almost 3million points!).
YOU 're game looks awesome! I'm going to buy that tonight as there really aren't any 4 player action games for iPad. It will be a good thing to throw in at parties.
Thanks, I thought about doing a story mode myself as well, but I think it won't fit this game anymore, maybe I do a sequel ;) What I have in mind is a bit different though. I want missions more like in the fashion of what the real-time strategy games introduced. So you'd have a fixed map with some objectives. ie. you have to get to and destroy a certain boss. Or you have to defend a certain facility from attacks. Or you need to find your way through some tricky maze with hidden dangers. Or save some ally who's in trouble in the far parts of the galaxy. Well things like that.
I'm old school, so I love boss battles, especially if you could make that co-op. Another idea for the single player would be to have a fixed position on the screen and a larger map to negotiate, maybe even have a minimal on the side. You're format has a lot of potential and the iPad is a great platform to experiment on.
Thanks for your interest, and your ideas. While we only have one true boss battle (though any of the critical missions might qualify as they each introduce Destroyer Bases not seen before), we're happy to say that *all* the Story mode and future challenge levels are playable for 1-4 players, including the boss(es). Watch out though; they're tougher and more aggressive depending on how many people are playing.
