DAL will be a top-down view game, where you control and alien robot. You're task is to destroy every threat.

The robot got a new grab n throw feature (wip) and some fixes. The dummy car was replaced and got some fun destruction features along with the barrel and ContainerTurret enemy. A Dummy human character is created.

(Note: Everything is subject to change, even things added/changed in this version. Nothing is final)

Walker

  • Added - Subdivision to mesh
  • Added - Metallic material
  • Added – First version of grab with legs (still needs many fixes and improvements)
    • Press V to try to start the sequence
    • Check objects in radius and selects the nearest allowed type (if there’s any)
    • Determines the closest leg to object and the last bone on it
    • Moves the IK bone chain with interpolation to air, ready for attack/grab
    • Moves the bone chain to the object position
    • While bone raises again, object starts to follow the bone
    • Waits for user input again (button V). Until that it follows the raised leg (shield?)
    • After pressing V again, bone moves forward in the air, disables the following and adds an impulse to the object and it’s thrown away in the world direction of the mouse.
  • Changed – Shortened laser beam’s directional burst emitter lifetime
  • Changed – Gas weapon’s effect density

Turret Container

  • Changed – When destroyed mesh will not disappear. Instead, the material gets darker (burns out).
  • Fixed - Turret rotation at last position.
  • Gun elevation lowered to show its dysfunctional status.

Car pawn

  • Changed - Dummy blocks to low poly car model
  • Added - Randomized colors at spawn
  • Added - Explosion with self-impulse (not for surroundings yet)
  • Added - Collision sound
  • Added - Slowly changes color to black after exploded (burning out) and mat gets rougher

Explosive barrel

  • Added - Flies into the sky a few meters (random impulse) when exploded. After hitting the floor again, it breaks apart (mesh disappears and wrecks spawn instead which burns and gets smaller slowly until they disappear)

Dummy Human

  • Added – Human pawn with dummy mesh
    • Working basic HP copied and modified from explosive barrel
    • Explosion effect changed to custom made Niagara blood splatter effect
    • Head sphere disappears when dead 😊


Test map

  • Added – Materials to blocks, so it feels a little better. (the map will probably not stay)

.....note: the Robot grab sequence was a little tricky. It needs 'some' more polishing.
