Prestige can be gained in many ways, but few things beat the construction and operation of a majestic cathedral for the benefit of the town. The winner of Season 1 will be the player with the most prestige on September 1st, so more construction and potentially a boom in the construction industry is expected.

Contracts and direct deals
An important element in trade is the ability to enter into contracts. Currently, the majority of the trade happens on the spot commodity exchanges in the various towns, which means everyone with a presence in a town can participate in the trades. If you have spent time finding and negotiating a deal, it may be preferable to hand over the products directly to your partner.
While proposing and fulfilling deals directly with your trading partners is already supported, being able to enter long-term and recurring contracts with your trading partners is a central element of the Mercatorio vision, and will receive a lot of focus during the upcoming Season 2.
