This version improves hovering, time bubbles, and spider spawn points. Doesn't sound like much, but affects gameplay tremendously. Tremendously well, that is!
What's new
The previous version (4571) introduced hovering as a means to quickly traverse the battle field. However, it was almost impossible to change direction. This is now greatly improved, which makes it a viable option even if your character has double jump or teleport.
Time bubbles now have an additional visual effect, a kind of "shadow sphere", which makes them much more noticable. In fact, when testing this feature, I noticed a couple of minor bugs in the way they interacted whith each other. While fixing those I got a few ideas for further improvements to the interaction mechanics. Long story short, time bubbles now behave much more predictable, which makes them a lot easier to use!
However, the biggest impact on gameplay comes from the new spider spawning algorithm. In the previous versions, almost all spiders spawned randomly outside the camp. This meant that incoming attacks came from all directions, which severely limited tactics and strategies. Now, almost all waves enter the battle field from distinctive spawn points. This allows for better preparation and enables you to advance or retreat according to the situation. It's much more fun this way!
Installation
If you've installed one of the previous versions, the installer will automatically upgrade it to the new version. Otherwise the installer creates a fresh installation. The game will load characters created with any of the previous versions, but characters created before version 4571 get reset to level 1 (after a warning message).
