PARAMELANCHOLIA - FIRST PUBLIC BETA RELEASE - version 0.26b.
First open release of Paramelancholia, v. 0.26b. Has been tested by few people in closed beta, so everything should work. Small bugs, texture misaligments, etc. are to be expected. Let me know in comments here or in discord if you encounter any issues. INSTALLATION: just unzip and play from exe, no previous installation of gzdoom required. In fact, DO NOT try to combine this with any previous gzdoom install, as it is not compatible and would most likely break something.
Notes:
- Some placeholder textures, sprites, sound effects, etc. are still in place. These will be changed in future releases.
- Further game mechanics will be added in the future, such as dodge/stamina system, inventory items, lighting improvements, sanity system (maybe). More on this in future updates.
- For now most important is to just make sure everything works. I'm quite new to gzdoom and game dev in general, so some rough code is to be expected.
- Game should run OK, but there's a lot of dynamic lighting and other effects, so in the future, further optimization will be done.
- Final release will consist of 9-10 levels and total playtime of 6-8 hours. Hopefully someday in 2025.
