We are embarking on an ambitious project to revive the concept of "Fear and Respect" as a fully realized mod for Grand Theft Auto V. This mod aims to create a deep, immersive experience that captures the essence of urban street life, where player choices dictate whether they are feared or respected by those around them. The mod will feature advanced combat mechanics, a dynamic storyline, and a richly detailed world.

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Developer with extensive experience in GTA V modding, who can guide the technical development of this project from start to finish. If you have a passion for creating engaging and complex mods, and you thrive in a collaborative environment, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:

    • Lead the development of the "Fear and Respect" mod, overseeing all technical aspects of the project.
    • Establish the project's technical vision and ensure that it aligns with the creative goals.
    • Make key architectural decisions, including the selection of modding tools, frameworks, and coding standards.
  • Development & Coding:

    • Write and review high-quality code for core gameplay mechanics, AI behavior, and custom features.
    • Develop and optimize scripts, assets, and game logic to ensure smooth performance on the GTA V engine.
    • Implement custom animations, character models, and environment assets to create an immersive experience.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other developers, designers, artists, and writers to integrate various elements of the mod.
    • Mentor junior developers and provide guidance to ensure best practices in coding and modding.
    • Collaborate with the project manager to establish development timelines and milestones.
  • Problem Solving:

    • Identify potential technical challenges and develop solutions to overcome them, ensuring the mod's stability and performance.
    • Debug and resolve issues related to gameplay, AI, graphics, and server performance.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that the mod meets the highest standards of quality, with thorough testing and iteration.
    • Implement and oversee version control and continuous integration processes.
  • Post-Launch Support:

    • Provide ongoing support and updates after the mod’s release, addressing player feedback and fixing any emerging issues.
    • Lead the development of potential future updates or expansions based on community interest.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Lead Developer or Senior Developer, particularly in GTA V modding or similar projects.
    • Strong portfolio of previous GTA V mods or related game development work.
    • Deep understanding of GTA V's RAGE engine, FiveM framework, and modding tools like OpenIV.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Lua, C#, or JavaScript (specific to FiveM or GTA V modding).
    • Strong knowledge of 3D modeling and animation tools (e.g., Blender, 3ds Max) for custom asset creation.
    • Experience with AI scripting, combat mechanics, and open-world game design.
    • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.
  • Leadership Skills:

    • Ability to lead and mentor a team, ensuring that all members are working efficiently and cohesively.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Passionate about gaming and modding, with a creative mindset and attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a remote team.
    • Committed to delivering a high-quality product that exceeds player expectations.
