Same weapon, but you can get both variants at the same time :>
Everything here is great, I really like this weapon in many other games, but... How did this old-school weapon could appear in the Zone? It also uses 7.62x63 which can't be find in MISERY.
7.62x62 is .30-06. This is .30 carbine, or 7.62x33.
Thanks. The first time I used this weapon was in COD 1 :) so great game it is ! and every weapon finds its way to the zone eventually, it just need to fall in my hands ;) and this M1 uses 7.62x51, I might change it to 7.62x54, or.....add a new ammo type for that shooter :D
I say new ammo, it opens the door for the AMT Automag, Ruger Blackhawk, and IMI Magal.
So you got these weapons or what ? :D
Yeah, definitely make it new ammo, and very rare also. .30 carbine isn't going to be easy to find anywhere anymore, especially in Eastern Europe. I would also argue for making the scoped variant a "special/rare" weapon, like the sniper rifles/shotguns/etc that you ask faction leaders about. Although, that might not be practical, since .30 carbine doesn't make for great ballistics at range.
No, but M1 Carbines are insanely pointable, decently accurate, and are surprisingly light. Recon's dream. And it does decently well with softpoint ammo. Freedom's into lightweight stuff, so maybe you could get it from Yar, and order ammo via Hawaiian.
NOTE: I am not asking mp5 for this, its just me thinking out loud, and may be something to bring to the MISERY devs.
Yeah, I figure we're all just discussing this, no obligations anywhere. I see your point about it being a great short- to medium-range weapon, and given that it uses Western ammo, Freedom may indeed have plenty of them around.
ShotgunSurgeon, You mean making it buyable from uncle Yar at Pripyat ? and than go all the way back to Yanov to get the appropriat ammo ? or get it from Yar as a gift ? and feel free to ask and to give your opinion ! friends' opinions are very welcome :D !
Officially adding this shooter to the game will be so great !
Yar from pripyat, or if you become friends with freedom, He offers it to you earilier. If it is to be made for sale, I came up with the formula: $700 for the rifle*1.4 (European import duties)+ $120 for the optic,*1.5 for smuggling/profit, * 30 to convert to rubles. So 50K RU would be suitable.
For ammo, $0.50 per round, so a box of 50 = 25. 25*1.4*1.5*30, plus a touch on top = 1600 RU per box.
HAH ! in addition to a grammar lover you are a math dude ! I'll take the weapon's price in consideration, but getting it from Yar.... I can make it only buyable at pripyat ! the ammo "if I added the new one" might be buyable from an even rare place....Yar again :p and from pripyat only !
Appreciat your time for the good calculating man !
Adding new ammo type is doable I guess, but it'll take some time. Making the scoped version special or rare might be possible, I'm Not really sure how to make it obtainable from Yar or any NPC, but thanks to the Dev Team for providing us with such easy access to the game's files; I can dig through the file and find a way to make it ! but it's really easy to make it rare like the TRG or any other special special weapon, you'll be able to get it from a random NPC, an experienced or a veteran NPC :D peace of cake for me ! for now......I'll keep the standard ammo type which is 7.62x51, but I'll do something about it some day :)
I used this weapon the first time in Brothers in Arms : Earned in Blood (On of my favorite games and difficult ones)
You should do a M1 Garand and a Thompson (Because I hate American weapons but those 2 are cool)
The Thompson already found its way to the zone Moddb.com :p for M1 garand....I'll keep an eye for it :) if I find it.....I'll definitly add it.
