Descobrimentos Portugueses, takes place in the Age of Discovery of the Portuguese empire in the XV century, where the player is the captain of a vessel set to sail the legendary path to Japan. In order to reach the destination the player will have to manage the entire ship, its resources and crew, as well as face several obstacles throughout the journey (Pirates, riots, storms, etc…).
This week, in "Kurofune: Descobrimos Portugueses", we are talking about how we made our steam page.
Hello everyone, we are back! Welcome to another article from 3PAStudios.
Today, we are talking a bit about what we went through while making our steam page.
As always, follow us on our socials, tiktok, youtube, website, discord, twitter and instagram. Give us feedback!
As the first steam page we made as a group and as individuals, this was a bit of a strenuous journey, we had no idea of what we needed to even make our page private so we could test some things around, even less the 100 euros up front we had to pay to even have the page (reckon that money is a sort of caution, we can make it back as soon as we get some profit).
The biggest part of making a steam page is making it presentable, multiple images, prerequisites, adaptability for all users, synopses of the content, etc...
And that's where Steamworks comes in, the online platform where game developers can make and edit their steam pages.
For us, this platform is bitter sweat, while it's extremely explicit on what we need to do which is nice, the platform doesn't support multiple changes at once, and the need to reload the page every time a change is made, and sometimes the changes don't even go through is kinda frustrating.
Every single image needs to be different, the size of every file is specific in order for the Steamworks automation to recognize where each image needs to go and the requirements of the game need to be specific, checked multiple times and correspond every time. Fortunately the Steamworks support is pretty good, they specify exactly what needs to change and how to change it.
Our steam page is currently a work in progress, but it's pretty much getting there, so be sure to check it and give us feedback!
As always, don't forget to wishlist our game on Steam as is almost getting realeased:
See you next time,
3PA Studios
We are so close to releasing the game, now what's left is just some minor bugs and a lot of balancing...
Today we are talking about how our work dynamic works and how it has improved our work flow!
As we are reaching the end of the development for this demo, we are finishing the polish and getting ready for the end goal!
Well, for this year that's it. What an amazing year it has been and to end it right, we are just giving a small preview of whats to come next year.
