Mortem: Fallen Kingdoms is a souls-like open world RPG inspired by games such as Dragon's Dogma set in a medieval fantasy world.
Long ago magic was forbidden across the land due to corruptive power consuming it's wielders and transforming them into magic craving nightmares and mutating creatures creating monstrosities. The central magic source was split up across the lands into shrines and sworn to be protected to stop the use of this destructive power.
A High Lord betrayed the king and raised a rebellion and launched attacks on these shrines consuming the magic for himself. In order to defeat magic, magic must be used. You have been tasked to locate magic shrines and absorb it's power into runes that allows the power to funneled through your weapons. You must gain in strength, re-unite the kingdom and stop the High Lord from rebuilding the central source and cause destruction.
