2000 years ago, there was a war between 2 houses. The Deys house was the rulers of the Kingdom Of Graoth, which is now known as the 'Shadow Lands'.
And house Voorrad, whom ruled over the Kingdom Of Wiceang. 200 years into the war, House Deys realised That slowly but surely house Voorrad was gaining the upper hand.
So in a meeting with the Heads of house Deys, master wizard Agreratram, devised a plan that would win them the war.
Together with 3 trusty apprentices Agreratram started the ritual. If it all went to plan, House Deys would be able to summon and control creatures from the nether world.
A plane of existence inhabited by Demonic creatures of pure evil. However, one of Agreratram's apprentices saw this as his chance to gain power. He betrayed his master in order to win the favour of a powerful demon, known as Lord Aceralian. However Lord Aceralian killed Agreratram and all of his apprentices, and allowed his demonic armies to spill into the world. The armies of House Voorrad retreated back to Wiceang and managed to hold back the demonic swarm. However the armies of House Deys, who thought the demons where working with them, where quickly slaughtered, however pockets of resistance remained, and they managed to hold some towns, against the flood of demons pouring through the rift between the two worlds...
The game is actually in a Pre-Alpha stage. With most of the world still under construction, and the main story line still lacking depth and actually just grinding to a halt after you meet the wizard. However if you are interested in seeing what I have managed to do so far, and helping me search for bugs (I am aware of certain clipping issues) then feel free to download the game below.

The Iron Wolf's have long since been forgotten. You can reinstate their legacy, and lead them against
the Daemons!
Ride your own Horse into the sunset, or maybe charge into battle on a Ferocious Night Wolf?
Have certain reputations with other factions. This will affect how you interact with them, and prices in shops.
Removal of all loading screens from the larger areas of the game.
DONE!
Reduce difficulty of tutorial boss (had to get lucky to kill him)
DONE!
I have completely redone the wizards tower. No more annoying and quite frankly tedious puzzles. However this has caused an issue where the script that draws the NPC names from their index entries has confused the wizards name with another character. Resulting in the NPC being called something completely different by two different NPC's. Working on a fix for this now.
Super quick update, expanded the quest past the wizards tower and added some valuable insight into what actually happened during the invasion. Fixed a bug with the wizards name being called in two different ways.
Updated starting screen. More good looking than the original placeholder. Starting to update splashscreens, just to improve the aesthetics of the game on startup.
Started to map the other two sections of the wastes, will add dome progressively harder enemies
Here at Darkhelmet Productions we (I) am constantly working on this game, and i am striving to bring you updates on a regularly basis, (not always public, however i will post news about it). If you wish to get involved with the project then feel free to follow the game, or even leave a friendly comment ;)
Had to pause development for a while. Getting back into it now, already added some updates which will be released in the next public build.
Hello ladies and gentlemen. I'm sorry for not really updating this project on here in a while however that does not mean that I have not been working on the game.
I have been spending most of my time recreating the world of 'Shadow Lands' as I imagined it. A dangerous, hostile place full of mystery death and well shadow. Due to the art style of the game (i am in no way shape or form an artist) I have had to rely on what some people would consider sub par graphics. However I think its beautiful just the way it is. Certain parts of some maps could do with a little more population however im generally happy with what I have created so far. So without further ado allow me to present to you some Pre-Alpha footage.
Please note that some of the locations may drastically change in time for the alpha release of the game. And i have specifically chosen not to show off any of the main story in this footage as i think it would ruin the surprise of playing the game. (The main story is by far the best part of it to date).
PPS (You may wish to turn your volume down a tad bit)
Some pictures showing off some new areas, and some places that have been redone.
Below is a Marauders cave. Its an example of me trying to reduce how linear the game is and feels by adding places (sometimes caves, sometimes entire cities or villages) that are not tied to any quest line but each will have things of interest (i would say items but it wont always be an item).
An image of the Southern Hemisphere (yea I know, real inventive name)
Thanks for taking the time to read this brief update. Ill make sure to try to keep the page for this game updated as much as possible in the future.

Depending on how this game goes, I have plans to release a sci-fi rpg. I might possibky integrate coop into it if this is something players are looking for in rpgs
Your game does look epic though. I'll still play.
I would Love to see coop implemented, that's just me though.
