I've been using linux again recently after a long break. I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 onto the 2nd partition of my laptop's hard drive and I'm regularly booting between Windows and Linux. I've also been investigating a number of other operating systems via Virtualbox.
I'm still spending the majority of my time weighing up different languages and libraries to write my roguelike game in. I think I will have to just pick one soon or I'll never start.
Hi graspee,
I recognize you from the Spectromancer forum on Steam.
I'm very annoyed that that thread got deleted I missed the last five comments. D:
I wasn't except the thread to last forever but I wasn't done yet. :'(
I assume what pushed cooler to delete it was the little eva and Tealus getting in a little tiff that went too far. Was it anything else? I don't know about anyone else but I still intend to pursue this further as being an indie only gets you so much leeway you simply can't completely hide that there is an activation limit.
It was me who deleted that Spectromancer thread. I'm sorry if it inconvenienced you.
Sure you know a lot how comment games and review... Stop being like that, besides, when you do such amazing reviews its not just the dev who create the game that think you are a nice person...
Just a tip ;)
Could I have some context please? I have no idea what you are talking about.
I have settled on using c++ and SDL to create my roguelike game, although I still have an undiscarded side project in 3d using irrlicht and c++.
I've forgotten to update this for so long! In the last few months I've been writing a roguelike game: "Pangolin Kwest". My development has gone from a Windows console app in c to using the libtcod library with C, then a tour of lisp, scheme and then ruby! When in ruby the game acquired 3d opengl graphics. I became disenchanted with ruby though, not for the language, which is great, but the difficulty of packaging the game to give to players, so I switched to using c++ and the irrlicht 3d graphics library. Development continues! Watch this space!
This is my first day of desura.
