PREPARE FOR BOARDING ME HEARTIES!
It's a happy day for us at Exit Strategy and we hope that you'll get similarly excited as you're reading this: we have just launched the new Pirates of New Horizons website, where you can play two levels of the game for free (in your browser) and pre-order the game!
This is the first public release since the release of the prototype and by the powers - it includes so many new features and fixes. For instance:
- Prof. Henceworth: Annha's feline sidekick
- New Moves: Ground-stomping, Kicking, Spline Surfing, Swimming (in all directions)
- Over-The-Shoulder Camera Mode (to aim gadgets)
- Save/Load System
- Level Streaming (Background-Loading/No Loading Screens)
- Advanced Shaders
- Dynamic Shadows
- Post-Processing Effects (Bloom, Lightshafts, SSAO)
- New Music Score
- Character Speech During Dialogues
- Hotswapping between gamepad and keyboard
- and much more...
If you decide to pre-order the game, you will not only save money and support the development, but also gain instant access to a third level (Volcano Island), more gadgets, a downloadable version of the build and many other pre-order perks (for example we can't wait to put your pictures up on the wall of our hallway :D)!
There are two different editions:
- The full game upon release
Instant access to 'Volcano Island' - Play around with three more gadgets right away: The Grappling Hook, Ninja Shoe Soles and the Jetpack
- Early access to future game content
- A downloadable copy of the Preview Version
- The heartfelt gratitude of the developers
'Planet Buster'
'Hall of Captains'! You don't believe us? Find out more!
Head over to www.piratesofnewhorizons.com to try the game and help us to make the world a little more colourful!
- Michael, Skjalg, Soenke and Friedrich
Congrats!
Awesome! I remember seeing a trailer for this a long time ago, so I'm really happy to see it's about finished. I tried the game on your website, it's very rich for a browser game, refreshingly different, and easy to pick up. Congrats!
Congrats you guys! I'm glad you guys are as far as you are in development and its great to see so much progress from the team!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
need credit card availability or Paysafecard xD
Sorry about the credit card inconvenience, we are working as hard as possible to work out the issue with our payment provider. Paypal is the recommended solution for now.
dont have paypal so i have to wait
Try selecting paypal as a payment method and in step 3 choose "guest". You should be able to pay using a credit card. Let me know if that works!
The option to directly pay using your credit card is finally available. Happy pre-ordering! :)
Love the Screenshots!
Its all turning out to be quite an amazing game!
I agree that Pirate of New Horizons should be $20 but as a pre-pay price this means the release price will be more...
I hope people are willing to pay more than $20
I will happily pay $20 because it looks GREAT!
First, looks great and loved the browser version I played.
Second, don't mean to get technical, but when you click on 'buy' on your website it shows (among other things) -
A downloadable copy of the Preview Version
A Pre-Order discount
So, when I buy I get a downloadable copy of the preview version and a "preorder discount." Am I buying the full finished version?
Thank you!
You ARE buying the FULL VERSION of the game! The downloadable stand-alone version of the Preview is just a little something we add on top and make available to you right now. The discount refers to the fact that the game will be have a slightly higher price tag upon release. Therefore it makes sense to pre-order now to save money. I can see why this can lead to confusion though, so I changed it. Thanks for bringing this up!
Thank you. Just was missing that line "includes full game upon release" that a lot of games have. The wording was just a little confusing.
The game looks great and you will have my preorder soon.
I will not express my personal opinion about this game . We live in a world were only YOU are right not I .
This game looks fun, your visual usage of Unity is beautiful, it's loaded with nice feature, and I'm kinda glad to see a moderately-proportioned yet interesting female lead character for a change (they're far and few between). I'll definitely be checking this one out next time I get paid. Great job!
Trying!
I like the live colors used, make the game "happiness" to play =D
