The events in the game take place several decades after a global natural cataclysm, which led to the emergence of large areas of radioactive wasteland. On the territories untouched by the cataclysm, city-states were formed, strengthened by the influx of refugees, each with their own orders and competing fiercely with their neighbours for the remaining resources.

Small villages and settlements fell under the control of such cities, or destroyed by various gangs of those who did not want to hold on to the remnants of humanity - raiders, cannibals, sadists and perverts. A multitude of gangs, from small groups to entire armies have filled the livable territories.

The player, in addition to maintaining the basic needs of food, water and rest, will have to make choices, the consequences of which somehow affect the world, in the face of emerging new threats in the form of disease and mutations. The player's decisions can bend the world towards restoring humanity or give it over to rapid natural selection.

• Survive - Hardcore survival mechanics with hunger, thirst, fatigue, hypothermia, poisoning, radiation, injuries and more.
• Scavenging Runs - Exploring abandoned and ruined settlements for food and supplies.
• Encounters and Events - Random encounters and events create dangers situations in which you must make choices that affect the your own survival story.
• Quests - Nonlinear gameplay. Many quests, some of which with alternative solutions and outcomes.
• Karma and faction reputation - Some choices will affect karma and faction relations. Good relations unlock trade and new quest branches.
• Crafting - Craft and upgrade weapons, equipment, tools. Lots of cooking recipes
• Levelling-up stats and skills - Improve your skills and attributes - increase your chance of survival.
• Making decisions - Influence the plot with your choices, that affect the story.
• Weather and Temperature System - Temperature, rain, and day/night time may affects movement and some actions.
• Exploration - Large wandering map with many hidden locations.
• Hunting and Fishing - Use your skills to find a suitable place for fishing or head out into the wilderness and hunt wild animals.
• Gathering - Search for plants, berries and mushrooms, and use special skills to identify what's safe to eat.
• Building - Build from the bonfire to the improved workbench and shelter.
