Having worked as a farmer and woodcutter for most of my life i became determined to do something that would leave my mark after i was gone. Since then i got back to studies, and i have now a master degree in Electrotecnical Engineering as well as a degree on Electromechanical Engineering. On my free time i like playing and so i became interested in creating my own games or, in the shorter term, modding games to get something closer to what i would like games to be.
Just enough to scare your enemy in a cross shape.
I don't really know if I can like this cross wall concept. You build a straight wall and everywhere are crossing walls ^^
Maybe you could make the wall ends upgradeable and if there are walls next to each other they could be upgraded through Scar in the right place. This should be possible, but I'm afraid the upgrade couldn't be reverted.
Cylarne wants cross walls and i provide something that can be seen as cross walls. How they will be used and if they will be improved is not my current concern. Also abusing scar on regular gameplay has its downsides, just like allowing listening posts to be place on statues :P
Yup, I know. It is just in my head.
But now, that we're talking about it, I've got an idea. In AE you can set abilities to only affect a pie of an area. So maybe Scar isn't necessary - you just make four abilities with each upgrading walls in the corresponding direction.
Maybe I will try it out, but I would have to use another model. I cannot get my OE working...
You can certainly use abilities but it has its downsides/issues also. The best approach as in most things would be to have a modeller making models with (at least) 5 parts: north, south, east and west wall sections and center/corner piece which could be upgrade through addons/weapon upgrades thus allowing 4 directions or less depending on the needs of the player. Modellers are rare so a person ends up settling with less.
