This week, the content is mainly new added dialogue, art assets, and audio. These are mainly for finishing the game’s story and polishing the atmosphere of the game as the showcase is finally upon us. Our audio freelancer made some very cool, jazz-like music, while ambience sounds were gathered for non-music scenes, as any game is expected to have some music or sound effects. A new audio prefab was created so the dialogue asset (Yarn) and the inspector can both interact with the audio. Some of the code was rewritten to become more simplified and clearer, such as the movement script, or to add additional quality of life, such as automatic text change, to give more development and gameplay efficiency. Otherwise, our main efforts were to create a completable game loop that flows logically without a huge break from the aesthetics, as our main mechanics were implemented.

There are currently no plans for next week’s iteration, as December 9th, 2022 is the day our game is due. However, there were plenty of “what-could-it-been” moments in our game that could have been added if we had more time. For example, additional cutscenes and artwork would have been very nice. More music that is unique to each scene would have been amazing. Being more creative with the use of the energy bar could have been an opportunity. Nonetheless, we hope that you appreciate our efforts in making this game!
