It's been confirmed that one jet was shot down by Syrian forces not two, but the exact conditions are still a little hazy. I saw a map of where the jet was supposedly shot down and it seems very grey as to whether it was shot down in Turkish or Syrian airspace.
With this and the firing on civilian refugees earlier in the year across the border, they could be looking to enact article V of the North Atlantic Treaty and respond with NATO forces...
This comes as the propaganda over the Mi-25 shipments is still ongoing. Cameron even claimed that Putin had changed his stance on intervention in Syria... he hasn't and he will not!
"The office of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says it is “understood” that Syria shot down a Turkish military jet. The Syrian military confirmed that it downed the plane “over Syrian territorial waters.”"
Thus Syria have acted well within international law to protect their territory.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing because all I remember is a ling time of slavery under Turkish rule.

Only minutes after I posted that...
