Shallow Space is a 3D Real Time Strategy game inspired by Nexus: The Jupiter incident and Homeworld. Shallow Space focuses on organised mass RTS space combat in a fully 3D environment. Ships in Shallow Space are nearly always grouped into Flotillas and Wings, and orders issued to these structures cascade to the subordinate members. Rather than stressing out clicking on the units or dragging selection boxes during the heat of battle, standing orders are issued in advance leaving you to zoom around, activating abilities and arranging support and reinforcements. Should the tide turn in battle traditional control is still available.
A number of requests for ship debris, no problem; I've added it. Of course I had to make it glow a bit, can't see it otherwise and it sure is fun watching it bounce off the other ships... Support us Shallow.space

Hm...looks nice, but I kinda feel like you could replace some of the glowing red rocks with vague husk shapes and localised bright glowing spots spread across them? Still too bright?
The glowing rocks make me think "Fresh corium," but then you'd have a ship that's almost entirely nuclear reactor and that's...hey, this thing has directed energy weapons, right?
Also, bouncing off ships; Potential for space debris damage/Kessler syndrome, maybe?
Well they aren't glowing rocks, but glowing bits of hull - it's all placeholder anyway but the floating debris does blend into the skybox too easily unless it's glowing like this.
Space debris damage might make things a little chaotic I think but it does have natural side effects like blocking shots and stuff.
Yeah, I know, it's just that the image that comes off my screen only shows the silhouette and the glowing colours at this distance.
Though, I'm presuming there's at least a slight a animation to it anyhow.
So, how far up will the chunks actually go?
Well I think I'll either have to kill them after X seconds or keep track of them and make sure that there are no more than X on scene.
I can't glean usable metrics from this computer, it's a beast. But I'll have an option to turn them off I think.
