Description
Croatian Army is equipped with 76 M-84A4 Sniper MBT`s. Awaiting further upgrades. Croatian Army plans to upgrade 52 tanks to M-84A5 standard by 2020. Remaining tanks will be put to reserve status or stored.

Is there any difference between thuse Balkan made types from Russian ones?
They were made under licence right?
M-84s are similar to T-72M1s but M-84 has slightly different engine. Not very sure tho
I kinda wonder about top versions of regional development. Anyone can compare Czech T72M4, Polish Twardy, Croatian M-84A5 and Russian T72B3?
Czech one use same engine as challenger 2 (some 750kW from original 600kW), whole tank was reassembled with upgraded or custom made parts, Obra laser warning system, DYNA ERA, packing some new electronics from italy ..etc
PT91 aka twardy have some local made stuff from fire control to engine (750kW) dont really remember names, erawa ERA
M-84A5 is pretty much upgrading same stuff that others do, better engine, reactive armor, balistic computer etc
T72B3 is lot cheaper upgrade just to keep B versions operational, but it works suprisingly well compared to enormous cost of lets say cz version upgrade. Kontakt-5 ERA, 850kW V-92S2F, new FCS and some refurbished parts
So which is the best? I would bet money on M4CZ, but russian have better armor and can shoot what is for me game changer for tank battle - Svir or Refleks anti tank rockets, Polish one have faster auto loader(but horrible old one was replaced in all above mentioned versions) which can shoot 10 rounds per minute compared to original 8 with not really reliable autoloader
