Defensive series 2 of 3.
This time I'll start with the full completed model.
I decided to do an Allied Turret for a similar reason to why I decided to do a Nod Turret over 3 years ago... I like the design and it is very easy to do.
I decided a long time ago that I would not use the Nod Turret, that I made ages ago, has the base for an Allied Turret (I got a different feel between the Nod Turret & Allied Turret FMVs, despite the fact that it is probably the same model).
The hatch handle has since been made rectangular because I do not see any point in making it radial (see the next image to the right for an explanation).
I wanted something in between the almost barren detail of my Nod turret to the (in my opinion) way over the top detail in some other mods (for various C&C games) Turrets.
What I liked most about the FMV turret was that it was simple and unfussy. There is no doubting has to what it's role is and it performs exactly has you'd expect. Adding too much additional detail (in effect, trying to over explain or define something that is simple), would detract from the Turrets design.
